Medical microneedling is used to renew and improve the skin through sterile and pure needles. 1,600 microchannels (wounds) per second are created in the skin, triggering the skin’s own wound healing. Collagen is found in the skin. The top layer of the skin is the epidermis, where the skin cells are located. Below this is the dermis (dermis) and the subcutaneous connective tissue (hypodermis). This is where important parts of your skin, such as blood vessels and hair follicles, are located. In between there is a lot of elastin and collagen. Elastin is a protein that provides elasticity to the skin. The dermis consists of about 30% collagen. Collagen and elastin together ensure skin firmness, suppleness and elasticity.
